Suriname

Located in the northern coast of South America, Suriname has a population of nearly 560.000.

The country is strategically located with connections to South America, as well as the Caribbean. Therefore, Suriname became a member of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) in 1995. Suriname can be considered more of a Caribbean country, as it has lots in common with the Caribbean. It is widely known for its multi cultured society with a multitude of religions, ethnics and linguistic groups. Most of the population lives in and around Paramaribo, which is the capital of its nation.
